Nasir Jones. Iconic Hip Hop Artist, Legendary Rapper, Immaculate Poet. Any of these things could be used to describe Nas, who unleashed his debut album, Illmatic, upon the world in 1994. Nas is known for top-tier lyricism, flow, and mic presence, as well as high-profile feuds and undeniable influence. Few rappers from the Golden Era have maintained the buzz and success that Nas has, with just about major release of the last year featuring a Nas verse, and a strong promo run of 3 singles accompanied by videos. We’ve seen Nas pop up on Lil Wayne’s album, Rick Ross’s Mixtape, Nicki Minaj’s album, Common’s album, and even in Nicki Minaj’s video & ESPN commercials. Nas even has features coming soon on Chris Brown and Meek Mills’ albums, which is guaranteed to be a great look for Nas in terms of popularity. Not only is Nas doing well on his features, but his next album, Life Is Good, is looking very promising. The songs that we’ve heard off of the project show glimpses of his prime, and with possible production from Alchemist, No I.D., Kanye West, Q-Tip, and many more legends, this album surely will not disappoint.
